Advanced Conditioning Course
Strength, Stamina & Flexibility for Sports Dogs (4 weekly sessions)
Service Description
1 class per week for 4 consecutive Tuesdays at 6:30pm; Physiotherapist-led Conditioning Class for sporting dogs. You'll be guided through science-based exercise techniques to get your dog even fitter, stronger & performing their best, progressing as the weeks go on. Based on Dr Helen Nicholson's pioneering Canine Conditioning Course at Whole Family Health in St Mary's, this is intermediate & advanced level canine conditioning, and therefore not suitable for beginner dogs or humans (please see our "Beginners Dog Fitness" Class if you or your dog haven't done this before). Essential for preventing injuries, arthritis and pain, this class is perfect for dogs who are; - Already active in the Sports world but want to be even better! - Familiar with training & using equipment - Healthy and have not had any injuries in the past 6 weeks and have not had surgery in the past 12 weeks - Able to focus on the activity with their human and ignore other dogs in the area We'll cover a range of flexibility, strength, proprioceptive and core stability activities at your dogs pace, and will build their skills & stamina week on week. It would be awesome if you have a record of their performance prior to the first class so we can compare it following the completion of the course. Class has a maximum of 8 dogs per week to ensure each client receives individual time with the Physio. We use a large indoor dog daycare centre where dogs have plenty of space from each other in case they're not a "people person". Dogs stay on leash at all times and do not freely socialise as part of the class. If you're not sure if this class is right for them, please give us a call and Emma can examine your dog prior to attendance. *IMPORTANT* This class is not a substitute for physiotherapy treatment for your dog; this is designed to provide them with unique physical abilities to maximise their athletic performance and prevent injuries as much as possible. We always recommend an individual pre-course check with the Physio if you have any doubts, as the LAST thing we want is for your dog to get injured. Email info@dogfitphysio.com or text/call 0457 877 321 if you want to discuss this before booking. On booking, you'll receive detailed information regarding what you need to bring, location & parking (right outside the building) near Pet-O on Taren Point Road.
